Ways to take Kitsuria

dreamed this up last night, Imagine the humans found a way into Kitsuria and oppressed the Kitsune and enslaved them, resistance groups rise and fall yearly, until two Kitsune start a group that lasts for years, longer than the human emperor had seen one last, it was called Fire and Water, Shadow and Light. in it, Kitsune, Humans, and whatever beast enslaved fought as one, unified and working towards a common goal, the freedom of all. they lasted Five years, and then the Emperor makes his move and war is raged. the two factions are caught in a bitter war, taking heavy casualties on both sides until a couple of heros come along and change the game, for good or for ill.
